2018 Texas Open Pickleball Championship

About 350 people, ranging from age 11 to their mid 80s, gathered to compete in the Texas Open Pickleball Championship held at the Wagon Wheel Tennis Center in Coppell, Sept. 15-16. The tournament featured competitors from 22 states and several foreign nations including South Africa and Belgium.

This inaugural year of the Texas Open, held mid-September at Wagon Wheel Tennis Center in Coppell, TX run by TD Jeanne Stasny pulled top talent including Yates, Wright, Weinbach, Farias, Kovalova, Ansboury and Waters in addition to local hero Adam Stone. Hot off their Tournament of Champions win, Lucy Kovalova and Matt Wright added another gold to their growing collection. Sarah Ansboury teamed up with Adam Stone for silver, with KaSandra Marie Gehrke and Dave Weinbach landing bronze.
